We’re going to go over the top 9 WordPress hosting provider one by one and talk about the pros and the cons for every single one of these hosting provider. which means by the end of this article you’re going to know exactly which hosting provider you should go with to host your WordPress website. At the end of the article I’m going to review to you what my favorite web hosting company.
That I’ve used and not a lot of people know about it’s the most affordable and best web hosting company. I’ve tried out a ton of different hosting companies. In this article I’m going to show you exactly which of these hosting companies you should go with.
There are a few key things to look for when choosing a web hosting provider:
- Speed:
Your website should load quickly for your visitors. You can test the speed of different hosting providers using a tool like Pingdom or GTmetrix.
- Uptime:
- Backups:
- Customer support:
- Affordability:
Choosing a web hosting provider can be a daunting task, but it’s important to do your research and choose the right one for your needs.
1.SiteGround (siteground.com)
Siteground web hosting Pros:
- WordPress Recommended:
Now let’s first get started with Site Ground and the first pro for Site Ground is they’re actually one of the three companies that’s recommended by WordPress themselves as a recommended host.
- Easy Setup:
- Affordable Pricing:
- Reliable:
reliable.
- Fast Severs:
- FREE SSL Certificate:
If you sign up with Site Ground you’ll get a free SSL certificate as well and an SSL certificate will make sure that all Communications that happen via your website are secure. You
especially need an SSL certificate if you’re planning on taking credit card payments or having passwords or anything that there needs to be protection for your users and some hosting companies will actually
charge you for an SSL certificate but Site ground will give this to you for free.
Site Ground web hosting Cons:
- Mid-Tier Pricing:
Site Ground pricing is
mid tier though recently they did lower their prices a little bit but normally their prices are quite a bit higher than some of the other companies I’ll be talking about.
- Low Limit Plans:
- High Renewal Fees:
- Not Available in Every Country:
every country. It’s not available in India for instance. Site Ground used to be my favorite hosting company but I recently changed who I would recommend as my favorite hosting company and I’ll be talking about who I’d recommend later in this article and throughout this article I’m going to be explaining some terms like bandwidth, uptime and Page speed and why these are so important.
Bluehost web hosting Pros:
- WordPress Recommended:
- Popular:
- Trusted:
- Cheap Plans:
Bluehost web hosting cons:
- Overpriced:
- Slow Page Speed:
- Affiliate Program:
hosting companies because they’d make money by being an affiliate for blue host even though the other
companies were better than Blu host. Nowadays pretty much every hosting company out there has an affiliate program.
3.GoDaddy (godaddy.com)
Godaddy web hosting pros:
- Phone support:
Godaddy web hosting cons:
- Overpriced:
- The plans don’t make sense:
- Confusing interface:
- Support can be very rude:
On top of all that support can actually be very rude and I know a lot of people that have had bad experiences with GoDaddy support.
4.A2Hosting (a2hosting.com)
A2 web hosting pros:
- Fast hosting provider:
- Decent pricing:
A2 web hosting cons:
- Poor uptime:
However for cons they have relatively poor uptime. Their uptime is around 99.96% which sounds good but it’s on the lower side and for those of you that don’t know. Uptime is how often your website is actually going to be available and you would think that your uptime should be 100% but it’s actually not true because just like your electricity occasionally goes out your website will occasionally go out but the better hosting companies will have a higher uptime rating.
- Got hacked:
Part of the reason why I don’t recommend A2 hosting is they actually got hacked a few years ago and it seems like they were never able to bounce back.
- Back end can be confusing:
The back end of A2 hosting can also be relatively confusing.
- Not beginner friendly:
It’s not the most beginner friendly hosting company to start your first website.
5.HostGator (hostgator.com)
Hostgator web hosting pros:
- Good customer service:
- Affordable prices:
Hostgator web hosting cons:
But here’s a dirty little secret about HostGator. They’re actually owned by the same parent company that owns Blu host.
- Little bit more expensive:
Sometimes one of them will have discount pricing so if you are thinking about these two which I don’t recommend just go with whichever one is cheaper.
6.WP engine (wpengin.com)
wp engine web hosting pros:
- Fast:
- Reliable:
- Great customer support:
- Great overall host:
wp engine web hosting cons:
- 10x the price of other hosting companies:
Inmotion web hosting pros:
- Good speed:
Inmotion web hosting cons:
- More expensive:
- Slow:
It also is one of the slower hosting providers out there and there’s just two more hosting companies left including hostinger which I think is the most affordable company out there.
8.DreamHost (dreamhost.com)
Dreamhost web hosting pros:
- WordPress recommended:
Dreamhost web hosting cons:
I don’t see any advantages for going with dream host.
- More expensive:
- Slower:
- Less reliable:
- Poor uptime:
9.Hostinger (hostinger.com)
Hostinger web hosting pros:
- Most affordable:
Hostinger which is the most affordable hosting company out there. Hostinger only costs around $2 per month but the crazy thing about this company is they’re actually really good.
- Fast server:
- Reliable hosting provider:
- Easy one-click setup:
They have an easy oneclick setup for setting up your WordPress or woocommerce website which means that with hostinger it’s so easy to create a website if you sign up with them that you can do it in just a few minutes.
- Operates all over the place:
- Available in 40 different languages:
Hostinger web hosting cons:
- Hostinger phone support:
Hostinger don’t offer phone support. So if that is something that’s important to you host tinger is probably not the right option.
- Glitchy back end:
There back end can also be a little bit glitchy at times. They have their own patented H panel most companies use C panel and you have to license that technology they use what’s called H panel and it’s one of the reasons why they are able to be cheaper than a lot of the competitor companies and usually it works really well. But sometimes you might run into some issues with h panel though it’s gotten a lot better over the years.
- High renewal fees:
Another thing to note is they do have relatively High renewal fees so I recommend when you sign up for as long of a term as possible.
Which hosting provider is best for you and why:
Now let’s talk about the winner in which hosting company I think is the best and it really depends on what you want if you want the fastest hosting company out there I’d go with A2 hosting. If you want the most reliable hosting company go with WP engine.
Overall best hosting company:
It’s almost a tie between site Ground and Hostinger. Site Ground has great options and they have different tiers of plans. You can get up to 40 GB of web space, unlimited websites and your page can load up to 30% faster than other providers which means you’ll get more sales faster hosting. However wins for best hosting company because they allow you to store hundreds of gigabytes of data. You can create hundreds of different websites even with their cheapest plan. You also get a free domain name, free email and unlimited free SSL. On top of all this hosting has data centers all over the world and their website builder makes it extremely easy to build a website.
You can use all their different AI tools to build a website in seconds and you get all this from hosting for about a third of the price that you’d be paying on Site Ground. Now I will say there is one huge con about Hostinger that I haven’t talked about yet and that is they are constantly raising their prices. When I first found out about them it was only 99 cents a month now it’s over $2 a month. So if you are looking to create your own WordPress website I would sign up fast for hosting before they do increase their prices. Whatever hosting company you choose again I recommend Hostinger.
